Digital X-rays
Using the most advanced dental technology possible is just as important as staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques. Because our practice is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most convenient treatment options available, we utilize advanced digital X-ray technology in our office.
Digital X-rays provide several advanced imaging options designed to save time, provide clearer dental photos, and expose patients to less radiation than traditional X-ray technology.
Our practice is focused on making your dental experience as comfortable as possible. At your next appointment, we'll be happy to answer any questions you may have.
T-Scan™
The T-Scan is an objective tool used to assess a patient’s occlusion unlike articulating paper, which only shows contact location, T-Scan measures two key parameters: force and timing, providing a more comprehensive evaluation of occlusion.
What is Dental Occlusion, and How Do Dentists Measure It?
T-Scan™ is the only clinically recognized and research-validated digital occlusion analysis system in dentistry. It provides a complete digital solution for evaluating occlusion, allowing doctors to detect premature contacts, high forces, and the interrelationship of occlusal surfaces, information that traditional methods like articulating paper cannot capture. Whether you’re addressing harmful forces on a new restoration or conducting an occlusal analysis and adjustment, T-Scan helps balance your patients’ occlusion, reducing the need for costly repeat visits and remakes. With the rapid advancements in digital dentistry, incorporating this cutting-edge technology into your practice enhances patient education and enables a more confident and proactive approach to care.
Advantages of T-Scan:
- Implants: T-Scan’s Implant Loading Alerts help protect implants from harmful occlusal forces, preventing potential damage before it becomes an issue.
- Cosmetic: Dentistry T-Scan’s digital bite force data allows dentists to detect early and excessive forces that could compromise the longevity of ceramics and natural teeth.
- Occlusal Analysis & Adjustment: T-Scan eliminates the guesswork in occlusal evaluation by providing objective data to help diagnose and treat occlusion disorders effectively.
- MD/TMJ & Headaches: T-Scan’s digital bite force data empowers clinicians to better diagnose and treat TMD, potentially relieving patients of chronic pain and discomfort.
- Disclusion Time Reduction (DTR): Therapy DTR Therapy uses T-Scan’s occlusal analysis data to assess the impact of excursive movements on the occlusal plane, aiding in precise treatment adjustments.
- Splint/Orthotic Therapy: T-Scan’s digital occlusal analysis helps identify imbalances in patients being fitted for splints, ensuring proper fit and function.
- Crowns & Bridges: T-Scan provides precise bite force data to help analyze and optimize occlusion during restorative procedures such as crowns and bridges
- Denture Fitting: During denture fittings, T-Scan analyzes occlusal forces to ensure proper alignment and success in treatment.
Laser Dentistry
Laser therapy in dentistry provides patients with a more comfortable dental treatment experience. Using laser dentistry, your dentist is able to deliver a precise treatment that is more comfortable, quicker, and provides more stunning results.
Benefits of laser therapy
There are several benefits to receiving a laser therapy dental treatment.
- Many laser treatments do not require anesthesia, and the recovery time is much quicker than with traditional treatment methods.
- Treatments are more comfortable.
- There is less potential chance of bacterial infection because laser treatments are so precise.
Two types of laser dentistry
- Hard tissue includes treatments such as cavity detection, dental fillings, and tooth sensitivity improvements.
- Soft tissue (CO2) treatments include gum reshaping, gum surgery, and muscle attachment improvements.
Procedures such as removing benign oral tumors, regenerating nerves, overcoming sleep apnea, whitening teeth, and treating TMD are also considered laser dentistry treatments.
Carestream CBCT Imaging
Using the most advanced dental technology possible is just as important as staying up-to-date on the latest treatment techniques. Because our practice is dedicated to providing you with the safest and most convenient dental treatment options available, we are proud to use Carestream Cone Beam Computer Tomography (CBCT) imaging technology.
Carestream CBCT is a digital, 3D imaging system that allows your doctor to provide quick, comfortable, and effective dental imaging for precise diagnosis, treatment planning, and the evaluation of certain conditions. The data gathered is used to reconstruct a 3D image of your anatomy: dental (teeth); oral and maxillofacial region (mouth, jaw, and neck); and ears, nose, and throat (ENT).
You can take advantage of a more accurate, comfortable dental treatment with CBCT imaging. Special features include:
- A scan that takes less than a minute but provides enough data for a complete diagnosis
- A safer diagnosis with less radiation than traditional CT scanners
- Increased comfort: you are seated in an open environment with plenty of space
- A more cost-effective imaging system
- Data is easily shared, so you can stay informed and be able to make educated decisions on your course of treatment
DEXIS™ IOS Scanner
Our practice has just added a new intraoral scanner that will revolutionize the process of creating a dental impression. Gone are the trays of silicone putty or “goop” that patients found so unpleasant. Instead, you can experience a much more comfortable, digital impression process, as well as faster appointments.
The DEXIS™ IOS intraoral scanner is a small, handheld device that is very easy to maneuver in your mouth, making even hard-to-reach areas very accessible. What’s produced are high-definition, full color 2D and 3D images—and within seconds of completing the scanning process—an HD 3D digital impression. This 3D model will make it easy for you to understand the direction and goals of your treatment plan.
The DEXIS™ IOS provides:
- High-resolution images: We will be able to see your teeth with unprecedented detail, allowing for a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan.
- Faster appointments: With no need to prep teeth to capture a scan and fast scanner software, you’ll spend less time in the chair.
- Improved comfort and satisfaction: Without the goop, you will be more comfortable during the process of making an impression.
Electrosurgery
Electrosurgery is a dental procedure that uses high-frequency electrical currents to cut, coagulate, or remove tissue. It is a common technique used in many dental procedures, including gum surgery, root canal therapy, and tooth extractions. Electrosurgery is a safe and effective way to perform dental procedures with minimal bleeding and discomfort for the patient.
During electrosurgery, a small electrode is used to deliver the electrical current to the targeted area. The current heats up the tissue, causing it to vaporize or coagulate. This allows the dentist to precisely remove or reshape tissue without damaging surrounding areas. Electrosurgery is often preferred over traditional surgical techniques because it is less invasive, requires less anesthesia, and has a shorter recovery time.
